Matilda - World Of Tanks
Hi all,
Here is the MATILDA from Word Of tanks. Scale 1:50. Dimensions of the modele ; about (12 cm/4.7 in) x (5 cm/1.97 in) x (5 cm/1.97 in). It was greatly improved with the addition of lot of paper and metal parts as I usually do. For example: making spare tracks parts, hinges, supports to lift the turret, addition of traction rings, handles, antenna support which is not present (strange...) on the sheets, highlighting of the tracks, etc. . Then to exhibit it, I used part of the diorama available on the WOT Charioteer sheets. This places the model in North Africa, year 1942, in accordance with its camouflage scheme A few plaster pieces from Hirts Arts complete the scenery.

That's a nice looking model of the "Queen of the Desert" although by 1941-42 it wasn't competitive any more. The Caunter camouflage scheme always seems to cause arguments among plastic armour modellers but the scheme in this model looks very good.
There is a series of videos on YouTube of the Tank Museum refurbishing their Matilda - it certainly was an unusual vehicle even down to the planetary gearbox. Charlie |
