M3 A2 Half Track - Fly Model 1/25

Started this one today. Parts fit is good so far, drawings and written instructions are not completely useful.

Parts 1-4 in place so far. There seems as though there might be a conflict between parts 5 and 8 coming up so I need to think on things now.

Got the front suspension, roller, and front axle installed tonight.

Had to guess on placement of the suspension as there were no good marks to go by. Also, have no idea if I installed the axle shackles correctly because the drawings were not clear.

Last night was rear axle night. It fought me a little bit. I laminated the vertical faces onto another layer of card to improve fit of top and bottom bands.

The petals gave me some troubles so I put a card disk in from the backside to close the opening at the petal points. Did a little sanding and painted. Not perfect but it's on the bottom and can always me muddied to improve appearance.

Next is the tensioning mechanism for the rear tensioning wheel. There is absolutely no clue given on proper location of this mechanism on the frame. No frame marks or notation in the written instructions. I scaled some dimension off a hand drawn side view drawing in the instructions. I hope the drawing was to scale.

To my eye, it looks like the tensioning mechanism is in the right place.

Last night I built the tensioning mechanism and set it aside. Then installed the front bumper. Looks like I'll need to do a little paintwork on both. Diagram for tensioning method was not good.
