Running gear done. So, basic wheel assembly wasn't too bad. Seems like there are lamination callout errors on at least the idler wheels. If built with laminations as called out, tolerances would most likely stack up incorrectly, so I delaminated a few parts to about half their thickness.

Drive sprockets are a little fussy. Also the locating marks on the hull seem to be too far back resulting in interference between the road wheel shocks and the teeth of the sprockets.

Next are the tracks. We'll see what surprises their installation holds. Fingers crossed.

Also gratuitous dog picture (Sun Tzu our youngest).

Even though this is an old design and its rendering is less than real, it is a fun project to build. have fun,

I got to see this type BMP for real. I bet it was more fun to drive than being inside one of these.

Looks great from here, Greg. I lack the patience for all of those wheels...

Tracks. These were really simple, just a lot of cutting. Inner and outer layers and guide plates.

I did not touch up the color on these....yet. I think I'll wait until the outer cover plates are on and just touch up the visible stuff.

Greg,

They look mucho convincing to me. Tracks are what scares me the most about my "Wespa"...

That’s actually quite a handsome tank. I’m sure you’ll do it justice.

Thanks Anne!

Dan, I do tend towards laser cut tracks. These weren't bad though, as band style tracks are my second choice....

Rear doors built and installed. I decided to skip the interior detail. The door hinges were questionable to me and I want to finish this a little sooner.

Also you can see how simple the tracks really are. They seem slightly out of place.

Looks great, Greg. Including the tracks. I think the doors look heavy and real. Like real metal.

By the way...here is someone making tank treads in an amazing (and way past my pay scale) way. I can't imagine doing this, but it's cool to watch and see the end result.

Keep in mind, the doors are heavy, until the fuel drains out of them! Yes, those are fuel tanks. Supposedly, if time allowed, they were drained prior to combat.
