BMP-2 1/25 Fly Model

First project of new year. Hoping for a good building experience.

This is a hand drawn model of the BMP-2E as used in Afghanistan in the 80's.

I've started cutting formers, but no assembly yet.

Formers cut and construction begins. There is an option for a bit of interior so I am including it at this point.

Although hand drawn, fit at this early stage is good. Hope this trend continues.

The good fit trend did not continue.

I assembled all the hull formers. Fit was vague.

Then I realized the turret retention system should have been built and installed before the top plate, so disassembly.

Added the hull skin today, very wonky fit and finish. I did what I can but it still doesn't look great to me at this stage.

Turret structure and wheels. No build issues to report. Colors on one road wheel needed adjusted to green from tan.

The high here today was -2 F.

At least my truck started so I could make an appointment...
