Halinski Flak 38
For my next long-term project, I promised myself that I would build a good model, an impeccably high-quality kit with excellent instructions and no fit issues. I’ve worked my nerve up to try a Halinski, and of the small number in my collection, this looks like a good choice. Only 3 and a third pages of parts and lots of clear diagrams. Of course, the disadvantage is that there are lots of small parts.
This is going to go slowly, and for the sake of my sanity I intend to intersperse it with easier projects. I’ve done some preliminary translating and made scans and color photocopies of all the sheets, just in case I need to redo anything. So far I’ve cut out three parts, but two of them were fairly intricate. I can see that I will need to purchase wire of the appropriate diameters very soon.
