U.S. Army articulated truck

I ran across this vehicle at my local military museum. There wasn't a placard or anything with any information, nor did I take note of the model number, but it is a post-WW2 articulated truck- what looks like a trailer is connected to the vehicle by the transmission u-joint and those rear wheels are powered. I thought some of the armor modelers here on the forum would be interested.

Yep, that's a Gamma Goat!
It could go a lot of places the jeep couldn't, but really couldn't haul much more.
It was loud as all get out and, as I recall, prone to maintenance issues.
I had one Lieutenant Colonel say about the Gamma Goat, "It is like two dipsy dumpsters with wheels linked together":p
...some folks I know swore by them, though.
It would definately make an interesting model subject.

My understanding was that a lot more folks swore at them -- but I agree that the vehicle would make a nice model. I can even see a little diorama with animal models of goats and kids -- perhaps from Canon?

It would be great if Bob and Paul from Best Paper Models did one if their excellent 1/87-scale models of this Cold War oddity!
