The rest of the model is magnificent but when I saw those tires, I was taken aback, they look like real tires painted white inside. I have to ask, are they paper?

Wow! Yang4978, that is really impressive!

I'm always very happy to see the work of serious Chinese hobbyists, I wish hobbies were more common in China.

Yang4978, can I ask you for some advice? I am an American living in China, and I speak basic Chinese, but there are two hobby-related words I have trouble with, I'm not sure of the best translation.

What's the most common way to say:

(1) "cardstock" (the kind of paper we use for paper modeling, 我就会说 "名片的纸")
(2) "matte finish" (= "not shiny")

用中文,怎么说呢? 谢谢你的忠告!

cardstock 卡纸 名片纸是其中一类

matte finish 消光或 无光泽

"matte finish"
无光泽的纸,假如要打印即一般的喷墨打印纸(非相纸类),不打印那就用模造纸类

Peter -

Thank you for the translations! Cardstock is just "卡纸" ("card paper")? Haha, I didn't know it was so easy! I checked so many dictionaries, they never have this word (too technical, I guess). For example, Google Translate says the meaning of "卡纸" is "jam".

I asked some Chinese friends, but they are not modelers, and don't know this type of paper.

谢谢你!新年快乐!
