PayPal Purchases on Hold
I recently bought some kits from eCardmodels and did not get the immediate download link as I usually expect. I waited until the next morning and saw that the order was put on hold via PayPal. I called PayPal and they said that they review purchases periodically. It may be a few weeks before the transaction will fully process. It looks like I've had a few purchases (different vendors) on hold this year, but I don't know why since my credit card hasn't changed and it has not expired. Anyone else have this problem with PayPal?

It happens to me from time to time too, kinda seems random (usually happens when i'm buying a model i'm really eager to build ) From my experience it's usually a 2-5 day wait and not weeks but i dont think there's anything wrong on your end causing it if that's your concern!

It happened to me once. I took the same action as Raimund and the next morning all the purchases had cleared and were ready for download.
This is a PayPal, not an ECards thing. Don |

If one were of a suspicious mind one might think Paypal is using many credit card amounts aggregated to play the short term money market. Banks in Australia were doing that with electronic transfers between accounts and banks years ago until they were called out for it and a new instantaneous system was introduced.

Actually...
Don't send a message to Chris at this time (about this problem). He and the ecards team are aware of issues with paypal and are working to fix things. There are also other members of ecards here, who will see your comments. They have been inundated with concerns and to be honest, it gets in the way sometime. Rest assured, problems in the system are being resolved. And, don't post anyone's email addresses on the forums since it leads to spamming. Bots scan message boards for such things.

Hello all!
We did have some major problems with the site when one of the vendor payments crashed and burned... We did a lot of work (thanks to all the ecard staff!) and got things back online along with a few updates and upgrades to internal workings. It all appears to be going pretty well now. The PayPal thing is totally random and done by PayPal and is out of my control. I used to have to go in and update to complete for the downloads to work but since our changes that is now automated and will clear as soon as PayPal has finished their review giving you access to your kits. Its for the better to allow the process to follow its natural course and let it automatically release but if you need it right away you can shoot me an email and I can release. I often cant respond til after I am done working though. Typical process time for PayPal is about 48 hours. Thanks Chris
