Wilhelm Thümler 1:1250 models

Wilhelm Thümler, the “Cardstock Folder”, used to build 1:250 Models until he ran out of space. He says that he started this 1250 madness only 4 years ago. Here you can see his photos of some of the 1:1250 models.

His work makes 1:400 look huge. Does anyone know of more of these amazing models?

I've been a collector of 1/1200 and 1/1250 ship models all my life, but only occasionally have I seen paper models in those scales. Amazing work. Thanks for sharing these photos, Douglas.

Extraordinary work!
I recognize a few of the models...does anyone know whether he built these from scratch or from reduced kit scans?
Thanks for sharing!
Cheers!
Jim

Hello Jim,

all made from colored cardboard - scratch!

With lovely greetings
the Wilfried
PS: the dockyard should be Wilhelmshaven.

Thank you, Wilfried!

I see the KREFELD and a few other subjects from the Wilhelmshaven line, but as scratch builds they are brilliantly done...truly an amazing diorama with a great deal of little details, outstanding!

Cheers, my friend!
Jim
