Darwin,
Thank you! I was writing while you posted your page size. This is the answer that tells me what area to put the parts in for the 11x17 to convert to A3. The size Rick mentions won't work with autoCAd. If I chop 1" as a rule of thumb from the actual US letter 8.5" x 11" = 7.5 x 10 this will work. I was "over thinking" the issue, answers given show the simple way to do it! Thank you! Mike Bauer |

Well, not just for one model. But I,m telling you. One day, you going to come across something, and goes " Holy Batman!" and you want to print that but can't! Or, you would seen somthing and say "Hey, it would be so cool to scale it up!" But, you can't! Printer price are getting better anyway. Every modeler shoud get a printer that can print large format.

Bought one of mine used on eBay for $65 plus shipping. HP 1220C. Old technology, but since it is a professional series, it is a real workhorse. 13x19 and A3 sizes are part of the driver package.
It really doesn't do photos like the newer printers as it uses the old tri-color 78 and black 45 cartridges. Mike |

That's an excellent idea. I have my HP C309, but it doesn't handle the bigger sizes. If I can find an older HP 1220C I think I'll go for it, since I still have some of that ink and its refills around, and I also have the space.
