mh-53
Found the model on the net and tried building it as it claims to be 2 feet long when completed. And to my amazement, it really is 2 feet long.

This is a model of Blackout from the Transformers movie/games
it is very close to a real MH-53E, it would have only 1 outboard engine pod, not two looks like a really good model so far

There's a 4shared link in the first post of that thread. It's the download link. 22 pages in a PDO file. You'll need Pepakura Viewer.

The only "E" model pave low are in the mind of Chinese toy makers. All real life Pave Lows are "D" model H-53's (except for a few "C" models used for training). That means if it has the Pave Low nose, it should have TWO engines, 6 main rotor blades, 4 tail rotor blades, and the tail pylon doesn't have a bend in it. And Paves where never flown by the Navy or Army either. Sorry for the rant, but Pave Low's are my scientific speciality.

MH-53M Pave Low IV, AF serial number 68-10928, was retired 29 July 2007 and placed on display at Air Commando Park, Hurlbut field, Florida on 3 December 2007. This helicopter took part in the May 1975 Mayaguez Incident rescue operation and sustained major battle damage to the engine, rotor blades, and instrument panel. The aircraft flew in combat in Afghanistan and Iraq for its last seven years of service, with its last combat mission in Iraq during the summer 2007.
32 years (minimally, not sure when she first flew) of service from this great helicopter. I worked at Sikorsky from the late 70's through the late 80's. These helicopters were built by people who really loved what they were doing. I made many many parts for the Big E's, Blackhawks, Seahawks, Sea King, RSRA, ABC (S-69/XH-59), and parts for the X Wing which were never used on the RSRA. The Air Force is using Osprey's now. I don't know if that is good or bad. I don't think an Osprey can carry 55 soldiers. I am hoping for a S-92 model. |
