Yes, it's really good looking! Are you planning on building Doubting Thomas PB4Y-2?

Thanks guys. Where can I find DT's PB4y-2, sorry it doesn't seem that I know of his plane? Could it be in the download section, I'll find out. But Kancho has one in about 8 different markings. I have been studying them and have found that his design needs double effort - building frames first and skinning them later. Perhaps I'll how DT's look like and then decide.

See here. The french navy version is indeed in the download section. It's an A3 file (it seems) and I can't find how to print the right side on my regular A4 printer.

Oh dear me, I thought you were referring to the Catalina. This Privateer by RT is one that I envy very much as he has done a really good job. Not sure as I have quite a few others to complete, maybe later. Anyway, thanks for directing me to the relevant building thread.

Beautiful! It sure was a good-looking airplane and your model does it full justice.

The next Japanese navy reconnaissance seaplane, No. 25 in the 1/200 series, is a free download from www.geocities.jp/papercraft_etsutan/ise000.html the Aichi E16A Zuiun, aka, Paul, which is originally a 1/400 model. I have upscaled it to 1/200. It's an easy build and I should have put weights in the front part of the floats. Now it looks like a tail sitter.

To finish with the Japanese navy planes, No. 26 in this series is Suisei, aka, Judy, Yokosuka D4YS, also from papercraft etsutan. And also 1/400 originally upscaled to 1/200. Modification is necessary to make the curved engine cowling. Other than this, it is again an easy build. So, papercraft etsutan has gone a marvelous job on this free download.

On the contrary, GPM has a 1/200 Judy freebie but the engine cowling part is aweful and cannot be constructed smoothly. The prop cone is just as bad. Maybe I'll show it after I have finished it. The printing is good though, it is a very disappointing freebie. Really, I don't blame this one on my building skill. You wouldn't know how many times I tempted to discard it and throw it into the bin.
