Flying Humvee
Here is the F.G. Flying Humvee.
Built this one for a relative in the Army to show to his troops. Should be an interesting conversation when they see it for the first time. AS for the model,,, take your time, and be patient with it,,, the instruction sheet is a bit on the sparce side. I took build process pictures for some of the build and will share them with those who request them. A cute little model, and an overall fun build. The Wheels turn,,, Rotor turns,,, and the wings fold in and out. Need to add the Army mouse on the next one I build. Enjoy the pics'. |

nice clean build... thumbs up!
The only thing thats amiss here...is the whole idea of a flying humvee. It doesnt just look odd, its simply wrong. Nothing against your build though =) BTW, Its the fiddlersgreen model right? |

So what, a high speed fan for propulsion and an auto-gyro for lift? OK, I would by it. If it was designed for short hops and it used a lot of composite (not too bullet resistant though). Practical, I do not know. Fuel is heavy so in flight mode I guess it would burn through a bunch. Still, fun to dream. Nice model.
Air drops! With auto-gyro and limited forward motion would make this something that could be dropped from a plane in combat read mode. Once down, eject the wings and rotor and go! Again, just playing with my mind... CT
