Steve Bucher's Fairey Swordfish 1/100

This kit was a free promo model at Wings of Horus website, there was also a 1/50 more complete kit for sale. Unfortunately, none of them is available any longer (at least on that web site).

The kit was 3/4 of an A4 page of parts and a single sketch for assembly, engine and torpedo were missing in the promo version but I had a first and unsuccesful attempt at it.

Some five years after, that is now, I made my second and succesful attempt and it was worth the waiting and the effort! The kit is a real jewel!

There it goes: (engine, torpedo, cockpit upgrade and folding mechanism are add ons to the original kit).

Beautiful job! I was fortunate enough to acquire one of these.

Your model is remarkable for detail and realism, especially in such a small scale.

Beautiful build of one of my favorites, also saw it as a kid in "Sink the Bismark". I am pretty certain that this is a link to the promo you talk about as the parts mentioned are missing. Odd that it should be on the site it is on.... Anyway, if the link is ok by the Admin, enjoy the kit! Ric

AgaPablo, that is definitely one of the finer small (as in tiny) planes I have seen. Cramming that much detail into belies it's size, only your hand gave the real size away, really excellent!

Thank you all for your kind comments.
Much of my encouragement to try on 1/100 was reading and seeing, in this same forum, so many people tackling successfuly with micromodels.

Anyway, I want to share also how I made the folding wings. I came to be a very simple and durable solution; in fact I implemented it in a very early phase of the kit construction as I wasn't sure enough of its viability....then I've been folding and unfolding the wings all along the building process withouy any problem.

That is a well-engineered wing folding mechanism.
