Turning all of that into a joke, I wouldn't say anybody would have any 'copyright concerns from the airlines' in this case...

By the way, how about DC-8 in KLM colours?
There are a couple of paper airliners in KLM colours like: B-747, DC-9, DC-10, Fokker F-27, so there weren't any problems I think?!!
The guy must have his reasons. Not sure what they are, but he must. Funny how you don't realize how important some aircraft are. They come up as topics of conversation, then I, not having the broad knowledge displayed by so many here, find myself looking the aircraft up, and learning.

To me what is most significant and interesting about aircraft of this bygone era, is how advanced technology of the time enforces our modern day data of what works best. I jokingly refer to this era as the post stone age of modern passenger flight...lol. In my view it's fairly amazing that nearly 50 years later our latest designs are strikingly close to these older aircraft. With the exception of refinement of the airframes sculpting to reduce drag/enhance strength/reduce weight and more up to date propulsion technology, they are nearly the same birds. Just a little older and less efficient but, fine designs none the less. Zathros is right on target in his suggesting that research into these older aircraft is cool and excellent reading. Time well spent even when these topics are not brought up.

I understand to a certain extent the copyright issues, and the personal designs by some of us in this community are really breath-taking. On the other hand, if the design cannot be made available for purchase or free personal use, it seems like a forbidden fruit, why let us look at it and make us longing for this fruit?
