1/144 Flying Razorback, Revisited
A couple of weeks ago, my local modelling club was having a group build of Arkansas heritage
the next day. After working on the MT-LB detailing, I felt the urge to build something quick for the contest. So I dusted off the FG F-16 file at 9 am Friday morning, and set to work. Using the ole photoshop, I started by lightening the grays. Then using a template I had used before, I tried my hand at "pre shading" the panel lines. Selecting one of the darker grays, I set the opacity of my airbrush tool to about 28%, and outlined all of the panel lines, to give them a softer edge appearance. In the original Flying Razorback thread, located here 1/144 Flying Razorback you can see how the first incarnation of this build had a decided "nose" issue, as in it looked like a witches nose. So, utilizing what I learned the first time, I worked and tweaked the nose section until it almost looks normal! And, I still had it done by 9 pm Friday night! That being said, it is still a 1998 hand drawn model, so there are still some issues. And I still thank Roger Accurso for doing the tail repaint for me. *And, even with its problems, the club members voted it to a 2nd place.

Very nicely done Ray! I have had very little time or energy for model building lately so I must be content enjoying the skill and patience of others like you. Thanks!

Very nice model, Ray! Reminds me of when I lived across the street from the airport at Fort Smith, AR and would watch those F-16s take off and land almost daily. Thanks!

A comparison
Thank you Pericles for your confidence in me. It is an honor coming from you.
Also, at the meeting, the first place builder wanted a picture of our aircraft together. Here, in contrast and comparison, is the 1/48 scale plastic kit that was voted to a first place win, and my 1/144 second place build. Nothing special, just a little cool pic.
