Post a site?
Could someone please post a web site or address to this airplane.
I'm a little confused about "Grumman" and "P-47". Republic designed and built the P-47, not Grumman. Grumman had their hands full with their own line of fighters. Or so I thought! |

...but then I'm not an expert. As far as I know all my P-47 kits are Republics. I also noticed on Paper AirForce's site, the only licensing mentioned has to do with the Boeing trademark. quote: P-51 Mustang ™ Produced under license from Boeing Management Company. P-51 Mustang, North American Aviation, and Boeing are among the trademarks owned by Boeing Nothing attached to the other models, inclusing the P-47.

It's not World War II anymore, P-47D thunderbolt is now a Registered Trademark of Northrop Grumman Corporation, this model is Licensed under Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation.
On Monday, September 30, 2002, a U.S. federal trademark registration was filed for P-47D THUNDERBOLT. This trademark is owned by NORTHROP GRUMMAN SYSTEMS CORPORATION, Los Angeles, CA 90067. The USPTO has given the P-47D THUNDERBOLT trademark serial number of 78169462. The current federal status of this trademark filing is REGISTERED. I really hope this doesn't turn into anything more than a thread about a nice model. The licensing is stated on all the Brochures of the P-47D model, if you don't own the model, or have not had it in your hands, you will not know this. I have no idea, yet, what is on the P-51. I base what I say on the actual kit, which I have. A simple Google search will reveal any questions one may have about these issues. :/ |

Don't watch me!! I am a follower!! The one to watch will be Billy, the Master! He would be far too modest to say something like that but, I only am speaking what everyone else thinks.

Got the thunderbolt..its worth ten dollars just to look through the kit..theres some there i dont understand..but one of the few advantages of age is we have patience as i understand and as i watch this forum i will build...that cardboard furnished is mat board..excellent but its going to be diffucult to cut..i would suggest spreading it out over time..since i dont(wont) fly this one im not worried about the weight...so im thinking ..just cut finger holes in the formers instead of full cuts..will see as the building progresses......its a dream kit.....merry christmas to myself......

I have been thinking of getting a super fine scrolling saw. A Birthday/Christmas combo for myself. This one is only $95 bucks. I might make this plane out of metal if I get this saw. I'm in no hurry on this either. |
