"school planes"
I discovered kits of card model two years ago. Since I have built two models I presented in PaperModelers (Spitfire, F4U-1D Corsair). I always have been interested in aviation. I'm a primary school teacher in a small village of Switzerland. When pupils are 9 or 10 years old, I suggest to them to build a model of plane with cardboard and small pieces of wood. I help them to build a small box of cardboard (5X5X7cm) and give some advises to shape the rear of the plane. Then pupils can choose the type of plane they want to build. Some choose two wings, other prefer one wing, some choose wheels while others prefer to build a seaplane. I also give advises to build the engine but everything is possible and we try (pupils and me) to construct a nice-looking plane. In my school, the younger pupils know that the elder have the opportunity to realise such an activity and some are impatient. Sometimes, they ask me if they'll also build a plane when they'll be in my class. It is so since more than 20 years. I don't have pictures of planes that pupils have built but I join a few pictures of models I have built. Currently, they are hanging from the ceiling of my classroom. I'm glad to share the experience with you.
