This hobby is as much about learning as it is building.

Oh jes, Mike!

this hobby forces you and need a lot of investigation, found out thousands of details about the original, and if you satisfied with your searching results - translate it into your design, when you design your own model.
If not - when you like to build up a good and realistic cardboard model - invest and inform yourself about the original.

With lovely greetings

Wow, and I just finished the Book "Last Flight of Bomber 31". About the air war in the Aleutians. Lots of PV-1s & PV-2s. What timing.

Stephen, a while back the PBS show Nova did a program on the "last flight of bomber 31". They used our plane for all of the reinactment footage. It is a very good program.

Mike, this is looking amazing! I have decided to keep this a secret from my fellow AMHF members. I plan to build a nice model and mount it on a nice custom built display case and surprise them. There jaws are going to hit the floor!

BTW Mike, we have the plane pretty well torn apart right now for its anual D check; but if you need me to take any referance photos of anything I will do my best to get you what you need.

Thanks again.

If that's "a basic shape and added some minor details", then I'm the Pope
Other than that, please complete the design - even if a "simplified design" (like it's now) would be quite good

Pictures while it's undergoing it's annual would be very informative. Lots of detailed can be obtained from photos like that. I used to do annuals on Pipers and Cessna's, all the little access points opened and whatnot. Much info there.
