Thanks for all the comments.. As always, credit on how things look go to the designer. The more I do on this, makes me appreciate the effort and time put into the project..

On a side note, just found some nice aviation art work here..

Mike, a well designed kit helps the process a lot, but the skill and patience of the builder are what make for a nicely built model. Do not sell yourself or your skills short.

Thanks for sharing the art link! Beautiful work there.

Joe

skinning completed...

Completed all the skinning.. Now it's just a matter of doing the rest of the components and putting it all together...

Tail pieces...

cowling finished..

Added the protrusions on the cowling... Not that overjoyed on the way they look. Was hard keeping a consistent look in the shape. If I was to do a repeat, I would probably print these out on thinner paper as I would think it would be easier to shape at this size. Once I do some touching up, and attach to the fuselage it'll look better overall I think.

They look O.K. to me Peter, I think you have done a splendid job on these. Don't forget that the camera tends to enhance any perceived flaws. I have been following this thread with great interest and love your methodology for tackling such a small subject. However when I build this myself, I think I will pass on cutting out the cylinder-head bulges on the cowling, just a bit too fine for my eyes; what I will do is perhaps use an embossing tool from the inside and see how that works.

All the best and happy modelling,

Bernie

Thanks Bernie... Actually, that embossing is a good idea and should give you enough room for the motor to fit. I didn't want to take the chance and not cut them out and then have the cowling glued together only to find out that the motor wouldn't fit. Plus it would have been hard to cut out those openings, if I'd had already separated the cowling from the sheet.

I find rocker arm bulges on cowlings to be exceptionally challenging. Yours look great, Peter, and I like Bernie's embossing idea, too.
