Goes to show how well they were built. Imagine all the sand storms she must have been battered by - it's a wonder there's anything left !

Unfortunately and most important, the poor kid died in the desert.

There was very little thought for survival gear in those days. Also, if he had a wingman flying and staying with him, they could have found him ( dead or alive ) back then.

Very interesting.

I have some photos taken by my Dad in WW II in the Western Desert, of some vehicles they found complete with utensils, logbook, cans etc. Even tracks and footprints in some places. 35 odd years old at the time. Everything in excellent condition.
