Boeing P-26 Peashooter (finished)
Earlier, I posted a review of the Digital Navy P-26, my particular copy being a PMI laser reprint of an aircraft in Philippine markings. Here are some photos of the finished model. Enjoy!
No weathering, but the colors are pretty good. The kit includes a highly simplified engine. Wire is included in the kit, but not enough to do all the bracing. The cockpit is also simplified. I replaced the two-dimensional control stick with one made from formed styrene rod. Cheers!

Nice work, Chris! It looks like you are clearing up a backlog of works in progress of some very fine models.

Another great build. That is a great job with the guy wires, also. Are those actual wire? I like the subject (Philippine markings), also.

Thanks, Don, Jeff, Wyvern! Yes, Jeff, those are real wires. The wire provided in the kit was bare wire; the wires I added were blackened annealed wire with the blackening sanded off. Pulling both ends of the wire simultaneously with pliers does a dandy job of straightening. Installing the wires was quite easy. Each wire is just slightly longer than the space between the two end holes; since there is so much empty space in the fuselage and wings, one end of the wire can be inserted deeply into either the wing or fuselage, and then the opposite end is pulled back out to the opposite hole. Both ends are fixed with a drop of CA.
Cheers!
