Halinski Polikarpov I-16 (finished)

Hello, again! I finally got a chance to take some pictures of the models I have completed or progressed on. This is the 1/33 scale Halinski Polikarpov I-16 -- my first crack at a Halinski kit and an enjoyable build. Sitting in my display case with my other 1/33 scale projects, the model gives a real sense of how truly diminutive the Mosca was. Enjoy the photos!

The slick thing about this aircraft is that its markings are different on the port side...

...than on the starboard side. The Cyrillic characters spell out "For Stalin!" and "Smash Fascism!"

This kit was produced during the time period in which Halinski was transitioning to the weathered graphics we now all take for granted.

Probably could have shot this from a better angle!

There is a lot of cockpit detail included in the kit. Unfortunately, the I-16 cockpit is so cramped that very little of the detail can be seen!

Cheers!

Another fine model finished up. How many more in the queue?

This certainly was a charming airplane, wasn't it?

Excellent build of a great airplane. ...very clean.

I've always thought this an interesting aircraft. Reminds me of a bumble bee in that it is big fat and stubby, but boy can it fly.

Amazing! I had the same issue with my plastic model of the I-16, bought a detail kit for the cockpit and when installed, none of it was visible.
