More engine progress
Painting
I primed the wood about 4 times and then painted various shades of silver and also black for the back end. Accessories and externals The engine gearbox is made of card stock and fits over the forward compressor casing. The engine starter is made of a wood dowel. There are two ignition exciter boxes on top of the gearbox and wire leads to the engine plugs. Also, a small fuel pump added to the back of the gearbox and fuel nozzle tubing added as well. There are air tubes to pressurize the rear bearing sumps on top. Not much more, since I have reached the limits of my patience with this project and I think I reached and acceptable level for presenting it. Some pictures here. Cheers Isaac

Taking a break for a while. When I return, I may decide to hang the engine to the aircraft, or just leave as is.
I started looking at a Quest model 1/33 scale TA-183 next. Only issue is that I will have to make a vacuformed canopy ( I have not been too successful in that department ). Isaac

Wow Isaac, you've done a heroic effort to finish this model!
When I saw that it was from Super Model, I said "what? A Super Model kit under way and into completion!?!? Must be heroic... " And it was! Thing is, it seems that Super Model is not taking care of the quality of its products. I tossed away the Me-410 for less errors on the kit than your Me-1101. But I can say, you excel the pitfalls. Congratulations! Oh, by the way, the engine in itself is a master work! |

This was more like puting a puzzle together than building a model

I think this model is amazing... regardless the issues you found. But I guess is not for the heart-fainted, right? |
