Mitja Sersen Erman tells me almost every Inka were different, so one of them very well could have - somewhere, somehow... The Grunau Baby, upon which it is modeled did have it.

Thanks for the j2mc Planeur site. Jan Kytop did show me that - and the result was that I found the Fi-1 glider. Wouldn't have known about it otherwise. It is a VERY good site.

Rich - you made my day, again; THAT,s the way one could go, too... ! What a beauty it turned out to be. And a really nice windshield. And you say it went together fine. Beautiful words!

Since we are into critical discussion in this community, with the aim of helping each other get better and better results - the next builder may want to try to get the leading edge of the wing rounder. The real wing profile would have that. For a recent example, see this post about a visit to a rural gliding site, by Miles Linnabery. Very nice field, too, albeit a bit on the short side for comfort it seems...

There is no rib in the kit to help with that, so you'll just have to wing it (sic!). Try not to crease the fold at all, really. Just shape the wing topside, glue down the spar on the bottom side, close at the traiing edge, then massage the preshaped topside down to the spar and continue forwards until you judge the leading edge got about the right curvature.

Says I, who hasn't even built it yet.

Like I said, Rich - you made my day, like with the big prop!

Leif

Inka II Slovenian 1937-38 Vintage Glider

That is a beautiful 1/12 scale model build, Rich!

Bigger IS better. No visible white edges anywhere - VERY nice. The surface colors are so nice and subdued - not too saturated as you often might see them in various paper models. That makes a very realistic looking model. The impression on the whole is extremely good.

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Lief! Means a lot comming from you, also thank you Bengt and Mitja, realy makes my day!
I'm planning to build this once more (just love the look!) so be looking for the rounded leading edge, should have seen that on Jans build does look better (may just redo wing for now), also doing the belts different, not too happy with them......Rich

Dear Leif and Sailplane group:
Love the 1/12 scale size. I don't think my 1/24 will come out as well I all ready want to print it again at 1/16. I have pictures on disk now will put here later I am closing in the cockpit now with plywood floor. My question is how does (did) the tow rope hook to the glider???? would it show at scale?
THanks,
MILES
