Thanks to Butelczynski whom I warmly thank, on the North Korean side, a Yak 18 joins the museum. This aircraft was used, like the Po2 for stealth night attacks and nicknamed "Bedcheck Charlie" or because of the noise "Washing Machine Charlie". The most successful attack was the destruction of a fuel depot of more than 20 million liters in the Inchon area, in June 1953, by 4 or 5 Yak-18s. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Lol, that's really small. Some day I'll build bigger one, most likely 1:50 version. Nice work Jan.
Out of many thousands of those planes build quite a number still exists and some are flying. Back in 90s a number of Chinese made ones were offered for sale to westerners, unfortunately most of them were stripped of parts and gone beyond flying condition. |
