All I know, were the planes he DIDN'T fly, from years of what he told me or I overheard when friends of his came and visited our house in VA and saw over 20 squadron placqards and numerous awards gracing the walls of his den/air museum including 2 Mach Buster (MI and MII) certificates, and a Caterpillar (paratrooper) certificate and shortly before 070790 he received an "Eagle Driver" certificate because he was in Bitburg when the F-15's were testing the Hughes Radar that dad was in charge of and they took him up and let him take the stick. But I was still a kid (64 now) and sadly didn't take notes thinking he'd be around forever! I know he did NOT fly F-105's (but he knew "THUD Pilot" Dick Jonas), X-1, X-15, SR-71 but he knew alot of those pilots, and he did not fly escort for the XB-70 but lost his friend who did. I would love to know what other military aircraft and squadrons he was actually a part of, but when mom died in 2008 and my sisters sold her house a lot of dad's memorabilia stuff went on eBay to help pay bills unfortunately. I DO have his Society of Experimental Test Pilots "Associate Fellow" framed certificate which is signed by Robert A. Hoover (Yes, "Bob") and Bruce A. Peterson (Capt. Pete Peterson #3 Thunderbird in T-38's dad) and my 2 older sisters each have the other 2 certificates "Fellow" and "Member". I have nothing else except the famous F-82G squadron pictures with dad in formation. I remember seeing pictures of the French Mirage he flew when he was in Switzerland, F-80, F-84, F-86 and F-4 but none showed complete plane number, or name on nose art. All the pictures that we had of the den were lost during a move and eBay doesn't keep records from that far back with pictures and sadly I lost contact with my family a few years after I got married in 2000 and they moved away. Everytime I type in my dad's name "H. W. Rocky Jones, Jr." all I ever see is FQ-390 "Mid Night Sinner" and the Formula-1 air race accident in TX information from 1990. I am thankful knowing my dad was very proud of me after he got to see me when he came to take me to lunch and visit my office (shortly before he trailered his plane to TX) at NASA LaRC where I was the contract graphic designer for the Hypersonic Propulsion Branch working on classified art for the NASP and the X-43 projects from 1986-2006 I am also very thankful for some of the plastic models that actually portray "FQ-390" either on box art, as a decal "build" option or in one case with his actual name ON the instruction sheet inside the box...that was cool!
