First versions of both Wellington and B-24 were used by Coastal Command "as is",withoult any radar or sensor installations. Those came much later in the war (early 1944 I think).
I'm attempting CC Liberator now with very little luck.I haven't done cammo before so it's a learning curve. This is what I'm going for: |

Your Wellington is correct, but not Liberator. All CC Liberators wore on upper surfaces only Extra Dark Sea Grey colour (on fuselage it was only narrow line that ended behind astrodome). Tail stripes were on the inner sides, too.

+1 on the fin flash being also on the inner sides. Though most docs I have show grey and green on the upper surfaces (but some of those are for RCAF Liberators based in Canada).
PRmodels did a czech Liberator that only had extra dark sea grey at the top if I recall correctly.

Liberators of RAF Coastal Command got a new camo in summer 1943 (if I remember well) - acording this regulation there was omitted color Dark Slate Grey and only Extra Dark Sea Gray remained, as I've written before. So before this date there were both upper colors.
311th Czech Bomber Squadron got all its Liberators in this new camo scheme. They were version Mk. VI with frontal turret, but they were returned back in a few weeks and squadron got all planes in version Mk.V (former B-24D without turret). later they were repplenished with Mk.V Dumbo with radar under bow. All Liberators in this time wore only individual letter, the squadron two digit code was omitted. Before the end of 1944 all Liberators were repalced by Mk. VI's again. This time squadron got new code, too - letters PP and name of plane written under pilots place. It was based on individual letter (for example, plane of W.Cdr. Kostohryz - PP*K wore name Kosťa, plane PP*U - Uršula ...) There was Czech national insignia in the same place on Mk.VI's, too. In the past I've draw the most succesful plane - BZ796 of P/O Doležal, DFC, who had sunk blokaderunner DKM Alsterufer in December 25, 1943. This was typical plane as I've written before. Camo White/Extra Dark Sea Gray and only individual letter H. See here: http://www.revi.cz/images/decals/003...i_72003-04.jpg Hope this helps :-)
