The Indian flag on the tail of the plane should be lying down and not like in the model

Thank you but it's not the indian flag (nor the Irish flag).

It's the IAF fin flash, similar to the RAF fin flash but with the colors of the Indian flag.

Matchbox had a really nice 1/72 one in plastic a LONG time ago. RAF and Omani decals. Only readily available model of the Provost. Till now that is. Bruno- you're a true answer to aeromodeller's prayers.

I'm reasonably sure I still have this Provost.I use to have a lot of old Matchbox kits,some are still here.
