Not very complicated model but care should be taken with assembly of rear control surfaces. I added spars there and a big rectangular one in wing . Wing had pretty fat profile (think Hurricane wing) so one is definitely needed. Enjoy pictures.

I build this model because I found it mentioned in a memoir of a Polish solder with II Corps fighting in Italy. Wounded were evacuated to Africa using those very planes along with others. Coincidently this plane was also one of few times when Polish and ANZAC solders interacted much to annoyance of British MPs. ANZAC solder were fond of our alcohol, ours were fond of their rations so trade went on and good times were frequent.
Fine build and subject my friend!

Do you have any references on this? I didn't know Bombays were used in Greece. I know of Avro Ansons, Wellingtons, Blenheims, Baufighters and Baltimores, but no Bombays. This is very interesting to me.

Finished yes, posted no.
I wanted to put it in a set with other exotic helicopters, but at this moment I only have two models in that set.

Does anyone have the number for a Vickers Wellington in the S&P Catalog?

There is no Vickers Wellington in catalogue . There is a free 1:300 version. I did few simple recolors and enlargements of it. Have fun

Seems that there are relatively few models of this classic available.

216 Squadron RAF was flying Bombay's Egypt/Greece/Crete theatre during entire involvement of British army there. Vickers Valentia was also flown on possibly last frontline use in career of this type. I'm guessing they were hauling supplies to and wounded out of Greek airfields. They also evacuated Greek royal family in May 41.

I think those articles say that squadron did return to Greece in 1944 and stayed there till 46 ,of course with very different aircraft.

No. 216 Squadron (RAF) during the Second World War
No.216 Squadron | Squadrons | Research | National Cold War Exhibition

Bruno Has one Bombay L5857 SH C of that squadron but in later desert camo. In Greece Bombay's still had green/brown cam with black under surfaces . There are pictures of those Bombay's on net.

As Karol pointed out, there's only the old 1/300 Mk.I version.
I've enlarged the same one to 1/200 with the view of redrawing where required to produce later marks.
If there's any demand I can start on working on them sooner than later.

This iconic bomber has been on my to do list for quite some time, but whenever I intend to start with it I get lost in the different variants. Perhaps this could be a challenge to build in the shortest possible time, like the one done during WWII to build one in less than 48 hours.

edit: just checked Wellington LN514 was built in less than 24 hours!!
