I just wanted to explain why I can't make all requested models. It remains a hobby, doesn't it.

I tried the F-16. It was a troublesome build and it shows. So many glue stains... I messed up on the LERXes and on the connexion between the front fuselage/air intake/main fuselage section. I really should't build when it's raining. My eyes need sunlight!

One model per (non-working) day-scissorandplanes-f-16a-no-001.jpg

It's a test build for possible further repaints. That's why I chose a norwegian F-16AM : only one color for most of the plane and no need to worry on camo alignment but I can see on the finished model how the parts connect.

It's also a kitbash: the horizontal stabilisators are from the F-16C/D, the tail cone was stolen from the red/white/blue F-16A, as were the wings, the canopy position indicators and the IFR markers. I added some lines on the wings and modified the F-16A/B vertical fin to add the drag chute housing present on norwegian F-16s.

(I made some progress on the RAF Jaguar green/gray camo)

I stopped on the F-16A, the first production model. Just managed to hide the mistakes by applying a new printed part. But somehow Carlos makes it a better one..any landing gears for it?

But your early-production F-16 looks good!

This norwegian Viper is a first try and I printed it by mistake on thicker paper (I thought I didn't have any of those left!) which didn't help. No landing gear for now. I need to add some panel lines and/or positioning lines first.

(I was going to make a portuguese F-16 at first)

I had a hard drive crash a few days ago, I lost all 600+ models in my paper model folder. I tried restoring the versions but to no avail. I was able to redownload models purchased from Ecardmodels.com but the 1:100 Airbus A380-800 is gone.

So sorry guys.

Cones for everyone

Dear Bruno:

The same happen to me when I decide to build a model, when doing the research I found numerous models that will go great with the model I am planning to start!
By the way, very nice VFW-Fokker VAK 191B.

To everyone, please find attached an excel file (which I had to convert to PDF to be able to upload, sine the .xlsx was invalid) I did to help me understand cones and truncated cones (by a plane parallel to the base), just simple cones, not ex-centrics nor with elliptical bases. In any case you have the formulas. What I plot in a pie chart is f (the fraction of the circumference to be constructed plus 1-f, the fraction of the circumference that is not going to be constructed. For truncated cones just size and overlap.
Best regards,

Pablo

complete and utterly Off Topic - sorry...

Hola, Pablo!

Could it - by chance - be, that you are a certain Pablo Cicero?

Hi Carlos,
these modern fighters are not so easy to design and build as the more tubular older models. their smooth shapes are a bit of a nightmare, certainly at this scale.
In the case of the F-16 the front fuselage and air intake need some flattening in order to connect them to the fuselage and the wings.
Thanks for sharing the pictures of this build anyway.

Bruno
