Perhaps we'll have to ask CaptMike.

and now something off subject:
I know I have a strange sense of humor: half ironic, half sarcastic, half self-deprecation.
So if ever I might have offended anyone with it, I'm sincerely sorry. I never mean to be cruel or scornful. Life is too short for that.

The tail is definitely a DH, which was carried to the DH.88 Comet (the racer)

Su-17M4 Fitter - Correct Nose

Hi Bruno,

Thank so much for your feedback. Why did I not figure this out myself?

Needless to say, your intended part and method looks far better than my crude imitation. Attached pictures of my second Fitter with the as-intended-by-the-master nose. Love it!

One model per (non-working) day-su-17m4-fitter-correct-nose-2.jpgOne model per (non-working) day-su-17m4-fitter-correct-nose-3.jpgOne model per (non-working) day-su-17m4-fitter-correct-nose-4.jpg

I have step by step pictures of this build. I may post them in a separate thread in the next days.

Cheers,

Martin

@bevnklaus,
if I remember correctly, the metallic DC-8 was build by... Alzheimer. No, not the builder, my memory problem. I think that person printed on metallic paper.

@Sturmwind,
Without building instructions it is difficult to know that the cone and round part should have been put on the inside of the nose and not in front of it. That's why it seemed out of shape and proportion.
your adaptation looks realistic and is of course another solution for the tip.
and thanks for your appreciation.

Bruno
A little more to it than that , If you print the gray metal parts on metallic paper you will still have the gray metal parts. I contacted "Jesus " who apparently did that. Still waiting for a reply, lets see how he did that.

It is definitely the DH10. I have to admit - I secretly hoped that by mentioning it as one of my favorites, Bruno would take the bait. My plan seems to have worked! Now there will be two models that I cannot wait to have in my collection. Thanks Bruno!
