FG B-52 Buff question

I am curious to know if anyone happens to know the overall length and wingspan of the Fiddler's Green B-52 when completed? I could not see any reference to the completed model size on the website nor on the instruction sheet itself. The one I am referring to is the model in the folder B-52Camo that has 11 sheets total. Any insight would be greatly appreciated...

Hello,

Its been a few years since I built mine but if I recall it was about 30" long with a corresponding wingspan. Sorry I can not be more accurate, I no longer have the model.

Regards,

Cris

After crunching the numbers a bit, the wingspan of the real aicraft is roughly 185 feet while the length is 159 feet. Scaling that down, if the FG version has a wingspan of roughly 36 inches, then the length of the model should be around 29 to 30 inches. Somebody correct me if my math is wrong please!

Either way it looks like I am scaling this bad boy up!

That seems right on. The model I had built for the museum here disappeared a while back, so I can't get any precise measurements. Hmm. Come to think of it, it disappeared around the same time the former director left. He flew BUFFs, so I'm guessing he has it.

Not to completely hijack this thread.. But I had always wanted an 'H' model of the B-52, especially after seeing a modification. Gary Pilsworth has a 1/100 scale model of the 'H' for free in the downloads section, if you wanted that model definitely check it out, I just did and it looks awesome!

hijack done.. continue :P

I seriously considered that one for a bit before I moved onto the FG Buff. No biggy!

Anyhow Today I scaled up the pattern roughly 40% and the dimensions I came up with with where:

Length: 37.25 inches
wingspan: somewhere between 47 & 48 inches
