I see his XP-59 on ecard.com, but it is not the OD version ( under Thai paper.. )

I will send him a PM just in case.

Thanks

I see it. That is the recolor by Robert Turner. The original I have is in OD. Not an
accurate OD, but at least its green.

If you do not mind, can you take a couple of photos of either the kit or if you built it, of the model. I wanted to know if the shape is correct.

especially the tail and the wing tips. The original OD version had them rounded. The later versions had them squared off.

Many thanks

Isaac

Exclamation Second build

The purpose of the second build of the Gloster E28/39 Orlik model as I said was that I gave away my original build and wanted to add to my early jets collection. Secondly, I wanted to test the AstroBright card paper.

I loaded my Epson Work Force 630 printer with a few of the Legal size cardstock. It does not fit into the printer tray completely. But I managed to load some pages that hung out of the tray and after a few tries, the printer took it.

As I found later, the paper handles well, but for building it is not what I expected. Primarily, it is prone to moisture, it flakes a bit when handled with glue.

I should have sprayed it with a clear coat before building. I learned it again with another model I printed on this card stock.

Anyhow, pictures of the paper and the model. More pics coming up

Exclamation status of the model

As can be seen, there are smudges and areas that small drop of water got on the wings. Also, the overall "industrial" look to the finished model. It is just not smooth, not crisp. Also, the paper was not cheap to purchase either.

Printed pages

here are my goofs. The paper is very intolerant to mistakes and handling

Status:
At this point, the model is done short of a vacuformed canopy which I will form later.

Very nice work. I think this is the first model of this plane I've seen build.

Another great build, Isaac. Looking forward to seeing it with the canopy on.

Thank you both. My cheer leaders from Canada!

I just love to build early jets, especially first generation ones.

The XP-59 is next. First American jet.
