Legend has it that ejecting from a Lightning was always quite an experience:

Here are a few:

Especially at such low altitude. Looks like the poor chap is heading straight toward the crash site.

I agree cutting out all the former's for this plane takes ages!!! It's good you got the laser cut frames, it saves a lot of effort.
Also where did you get the canopy/wheels from?
NH78
All 3 accessories are available from Gomix ( from Poland ). Wheels, canopy and frames.

I think any of the Polish online shops carry those.

Smile The build begins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I decided to build all the frames at once since I have the laser cut frames. This is relatively easy if you don't have to hand cut the frames.

It is important to study all the sketches provided. Some are very busy and somewhat confusing. So dry fit first and then glue. I made a slight mistake by having one of the frames double the thickness. So I cut the mating part by a small amount. Nothing major.

Fuselage frames:

Start with the center section upper half.

Then add the belly frames.

Now the rear frames

and the forward frames.

Dry fit all the frames to each other ( one of the back frames in inverted in the picture, but I did not glue it yet, so it is no problem ).

It is a big boy of a plane. So far all the frames are about 16 inches long.

More framing to follow.

The laser cut parts certainly make the frame easier model to build

More frames

Next are the tail frames.

Vertical fin

I have decided to build the version without the separate rudder. The laser frame set gives you both options. Same for the wings.

Nice work. Was the only other plane with this layout the Vickers-Armstrong Type 559?
