Wow, Pericles, you're a busy man. Look forward to seeing more of the Cat that you're building.

I don't know if I missed it but one plane that gets little attention, yet served for many years patrolling many coasts hunting Soviet Subs is the p-5 Marlin. I served in the US Navy during her final years of service. It was affectionately named the "Pigboat" by those who flew them. Named for the awful smell that hit you whenever you stepped aboard. I have tried numerous times to arouse interest in this plane but to no avail. But thanks for your tribute to a very interesting genre of aircraft indeed.

Indeed, these seaplanes are interesting... but challenging. Well for a non-3D-programm using designer like me. It requires more thinking than calculating. more visualising the forms than measuring the dimensions. More approximation than prediction of parts.
But who said I don't like a little challenge

In both type of design (software or "old school"`the great challenge is the design of hull and predict unfolding in case of airboats. Sea planes with pontoons is more easy. The P2Y is a semi-scratchbuilding and the definitive building of fuselage consome three previous builds...
