I envision a similar approach.

For the slats on the leading edge, do you wish you had reshaped the wing's leading edge, or would that create more trouble and bad shape problems than its worth for the effect you got. (It looks like you added the slats to the existing leading edge?)

Again, thanks for sharing,

As I recall, my leading-edge slats were made from a metallic paper that I cut to shape and folded. Then I glued them to the existing leading edge of the wing.

I gave some thought to trying to figure out a way to recess the leading edge, but I decided in this scale it would be more trouble than it was worth. Plus, leaving the leading edge intact aided in keeping the wing's structure fairly solid.

Slats seems to be around 30cm height and 15-20cm width. If you are using the scale 1/100, i means 1.5-2 mm width. You'll need to be veery good with the paper to make the recess and the internal guides between flaps and wings

Draco,

Thanks for your insight.

Thanks also for mentioning the submarines in your signature line. I have been looking for posts on Guppy submarines for a while, and enjoyed the Archerfish build. One of these days I will try,

My take on extended flaps and slats on a 1/400 747 a year of eight ago... So, it certainly is possible. (-: But I don't think I am able to do that nowadays.
