Smile On gear

Since the landing gear of all the Hobby Model Mig-15 versions are the same, there is no need to repeat it as it was done earlier in this thread.

The only thing that would emphasize is : please get the correct stance on the ground. All too often I see models of Mig-15 and Mig 17 in a perfectly horizontal stance which is not correct. The plane had a slight tail down stance in a neutral position.

The model is on the gear

Cool Canopy

See my canopy section ( in this thread ) page 8

Mig-15 marathon

I purchased 3 different canopies. The only correct one for this kit is the the duel canopy set. However, that was used for the first Mig-15. For this build, I selected the Squadron clear canopy. It is in 1/32 scale and a bit big, but after trimming it looks OK.

The thing with this canopy is that it has to be painted since the Kits canopy frames do not fit it. Also it has raised frames. However, using plastic model technique of masking and spray painting, this canopy is a great choice.

base color is green for the interior and then silver over it.

Glued on to the model.

Next are some of the antenna and pitot tube and probably it is time to build the drop tanks.
