Exclamation Tub install- 1st step

At this point insert and glue the rear frame of the tub to the back of the cutout in the fuselage section. Only the rounded sections on either side of the cutout

next glue the mid-frame. Notice that the cutout is too large, but it makes no difference. The main glue areas are against the inner fuselage barrel

Now, put the sub assembly aside. You will have 3 sections at this point.

I will next need to build the nose inlet and nose gear bay to finish the nose section.

Very nice. I see you do edge coloring of the female portion. What do you use? I usually try to do at least a bit on the "male" part edges.

I edge color every part. Sometimes the joining strips as well.

I use the Faber Castell Pitt artist pens

Thanks. I like my Derwent watercolor pencils but these look interesting.

I just stumbled upon the YG model build for the Mig-15.

Mig 15 bis - 1/33 - YG-Model

I will use the engine from that kit for my build.

Cool Nose inlet interior

The fuselage nose contains the inner walls, air spliter, nose gear well and rear bulkhead

Mig-15 marathon-img_7592.jpg

and the sub assemblies
Mig-15 marathon-img_7593.jpg

The inner surfaces are glued using UHU glue sparingly ( and only toward the front. The inner surfaces are printed on thin paper so it is easier to move while gluing.
Mig-15 marathon-img_7594.jpg

The spliter is now installed ( glue applied to the forward top and bottom only. The rear sides are free to float.
Mig-15 marathon-img_7595.jpg

notice the nose weight. It would be covered up to prevent it loosening later on.
I selected a larger weight instead of the three smaller ones.
Mig-15 marathon-img_7597.jpgMig-15 marathon-img_7599.jpg

now the rear bulkhead is installed

The nose section is now done

Smile Red fuselage is done

Now join the forward and rear fuselage sections at the cockpit split section ( I placed the bulkhead ( frame ) exactly under the joining strip so it is easier to press the two sections together while gluing ).

here it is:

Two more fuselages to go.

I have a feeling we have the same hobby involving large amounts of lead

I use the similarly shaped weights too.
