Leif, happy to try and help! It has been quite a few years since I instructed in small aircraft but I do recall these strakes as being the 'origin' of fairly regular discussions about what they did, or did not, do. Had to rely on the real old-timers in the QFI world to come up with some of the explanations for various things that just were not in any of the technical or training manuals, and this was one of them! ;-)
