Ah, I didn't make myself clear. I'm not referring to the models themselves, but to the manner in which they are displayed. The photos you've posted from past exhibitions at the museum show some really cleverly themed "set-ups" to show the models off to best advantage. Those set-ups show a lot of imagination and craftsmanship in their design and construction.

Darren, we were typing at the same time. My first S&P 1/100 bird, Sopwith 1 1/2 Strutter, (there's a thread on it here in the forum), was printed on 65 lb card stock. My next 2 (Nieuport 17, and the Fokker D.VIII) were printed on hp glossy brochure paper with a weight of 108g or 48 lb.

Thanks Don. I am currently starting a P-47D S&P build on Metallic Card stock. Ran into an issue with the sealer I used. It went "blochy" and ruined the metallic finish. I figured it might be a good time to reconsider a lighter paper if I can find it. -Darren

I look forward to seeing your Thunderbolt, Darren. I've only purchased some of Bruno's WWI aircraft kits, although he has a huge collection of WWII designs, some of them pretty rare in paper. I do have his free Avenger, which is getting a mild Photoshop facelift.

Thanks, G1. Bruno's models are really fun to build. Quite a few of his line of WWI birds have liveries of planes flown by specific aces, so whenever possible I'm going to personalize each display by working their photos into the bases, whether flying or grounded. Sort of a paper modeler's salute to these warriors of the past.
