Hi Bruno,

All of the pictures I could find on Belgian Buffalos are with American civil registration numbers and Belgian markings. All these pictures were taken in the US or in the Caribbean. I read one did get to Belgium but I couldn't find any pictures of it. Do you know if there are any pictures of the one that flew in Belgium? Were the civil registration numbers removed?

They actually never got to serve in the Belgian Air Force. One, still crated and deviated to Bordeaux, was probably tested by the Germans. Six others were stored on the Martinique island. the rest was ceded to the RAF. More in this site, including some pictures of the planes on the French Aircraft carrier Béarn and in Martinique.

I didn't know there were any Belgian marked Buffaloes. Any ideas what colors they were in? Anything like Dutch Buffaloes?

Very similar B-ski. According to my trusty Squadron/Signal Buffalo In Action (Inaction might be more accurate) the Model 339B for the land of Bruno's was pretty much a denavalised F2A-2. Colours were Dark Earth and Dark Green uppers with silver lacquer undersides. Whilst in the delivery phase some (if not all) had white US civil rego's on starboard upper wing and fin and Belgian national markings. Would make a neat model for sure.

Purely speculating here-looking at pictures on site provided by Bruno I'm almost willing to bet Brewster used exactly the same paints in roughly similar camouflage on both Belgian and Dutch Buffalos.Likely they were also equipped the same way since Brewster was known to cut a lot of corners (one of many reasons they failed miserably).Finns on other hand had to be content with bare bottom version of Buffalo without any additional equipment but for them issue was money (or lack of it).

I have Aarons Dutch Buffalo.Rata-don't give me any ideas
