Thanks for the tip Issac, I'll move my pics here. Most forums don't accept image uploads so I just assumed this was the case here. Since we all know what assuming makes of people I feel like one now

Keep in mind when you upload your pictures to the forum, they will be part of the database, and right now that database is over 80GB, while uploading to the forum is great and easy, it does balloon the database a whole.
Unless you reedit your pictures prior to posting to the gallery here on the forum, we might hit that ceiling again, i hope not quickly.

Also keep in mind, we have a 1 hour time limit on editing posts, this is due to some people who would edit and their threads would become useless.

Do you mean that the hard drive is close to capacity at 80 GB? I thought that number would have been in the Terabyte range by now?

no i didn't say that, I said that the database that is the forum is at 80GB, also remember back to the middle of June, when the forum was down for a couple of days, and that we lost about 5 days worth of attached pictures? we were integrating a new hard drive and standing up a new server so that we won't run into those same problems(i hope) but we were victims of our own success, it is not only the pictures attached, but also all the files, in the download section, in threads, so we might run into the same problems, i just don't know when.

Rick, I think it makes sense to limiting ourselves in uploading photos as far as size is concerned.
I have noticed that some would like to upload full size pics that are taking
longer than necessary to open and will occupy too much database storage. Perhaps you
may consider starting a new thread in the appropriate page to discuss this issue. We just
don't want to hijack this one, lol.
