Ive built the tropical version, the fit was superb. follow most of bestpapermodels suggested build order or you'll find you can't place some of the "innards" into the aircraft. in that large of a scale you may have to stuff a little cotton into the hollows of the tail feathers to keep it getting flat. these are very enjoyable kits.

That is an excellent idea! I was thinking some extra card stock, but the cotton would be lighter. Thanks!

with cotton a little goes a long way you don't want that bursting at the seams look. just enough to keep the shape from collapsing to flat.

okay, I'm upping the scale from 1:35 to 1:33 scale. I used bestpapermodels own scale calculator at: Paper models scale calculator | Bestpapermodels.com

I'm also going to rework that tail to make sure it doesn't go flat.

Update! Okay, after re-sizing to 1:33 scale, I thought I'd attempt to redo that tail section. I added the cotton which definitely thickened it up a bit. I also curled the leading edge of the vertical stab. just a bit. It doesn't really say that in the instructions, which are kind of vague, but I referred to my walk around photos of an FW-190 and just went by that. MUCH BETTER!! Thank you for that tip on the use of the cotton!

Thank you so much! Here's an update. I've been working on the engine area and propeller (kind of hard), and then the horizontal stabs in the tail section.

Cockpit assembly and installation.

Update! Working on the cockpit. I still need to put a grip on top of the control stick, which is a toothpick right now, painted black. I built and installed the cockpit. I still need to do further paint-detailing on the seat and harness and buckles. Acrylic black paint is still wet in some places in the cockpit.
