Super cutlass - 1:72

The idea behond the SUPER CUTLASS is fictional.
During the Vietnam war the F-4 Phantom and the F-8 Crusader both struggled against the migs and a reinforcement was needed badly.
At LTV company the engineer's decided to
build a new redsigned Cutlass since most of the tooling for the build were still around.
The task was a complete redesign of the huge canopy for a pilot and systems operator.
Two J79 powerful engines trippled the power over the previus J46 and the aft section was
alongated. A vulcan 20 mm was installed under the front and the long front wheel strout was cut by half. Provision for 4 sidewinders was made.
The result was a terrific fighter with trhust to wieght ratio of better than 1.
The Super Cutlass was hurried to the war theater with a deployment of sqadron
Sun Downers 111 and upon arrival had immediate success against the migs.
The pilots had now the fighter they dreamed about.

The model is half resin and half paper and was built some 15 years ago with an
insperation of a post in a modelers magazine on an history that you cannot be written.
