Exclamation More on the fuselage

The plane is very round. All the fuselage sections are cones and cylinders. GPM selected an elaborate internal structure that in my opinion is over the top and difficult to assemble.

aft section is built. Do not attach the inner structure yet.

Forward section frame needs a bit of weight to prevent a tail seater.

Well Isaac, looks like you spent your time well in California . Good luck with assembling the fuselage. I agree with your comment that the inner structure is a bit over the top. The classical way with formers only without this spine-like structure would have done as well I would say. Be careful it doesn't torque during installation of the skin sections.

Cheers,
Erik

Isaac

do you remember what we talk once, before you started to build this model? that this model is over complexity, that from my modest opinion it should be more simple.

how ever it looks good and good luck

take care

when can we talk with the what's up phone?

Smile Cockpit

Before going further with the fuselage assembly, the cockpit must be assembled.

here it is

And in the frame

Now trial fit into the fuselage

And finally glued in place with the fame.

Going aft

Now that the cockpit is in place, go aft and add more sections.

Angry Exhaust

the exhaust duct.

Most of the detail will not be visible in this long duct.
Dassault Mystere IVa- GPM version-img_0699.jpg

dry fit first
Dassault Mystere IVa- GPM version-img_0700.jpg

Note
the aft frame. There is a cutout for the speed brakes. Since I will not build it with the brakes open, this detail is not needed. I had to trim it in order to fit to the fuselage and the exhaust duct.

The exhaust has a temporary disk to keep it round.

Question Fuselage joining

At this point, I needed to decide which sections should be used to join the forward to the aft sections. I decided to join them in the middle section where the opening to the main landing gear exists. This way, I can make small adjustments. I don't really know what was the designer's intentions regarding the inner frames as it made no sense for me to build it around the frame. Therefore the inner frames were cut into smaller sections.

Here is the aft section
Dassault Mystere IVa- GPM version-img_0706.jpg

and forward section
Dassault Mystere IVa- GPM version-img_0707.jpg

And now joined.
