Age of Aerospace

Did anyone see the first episode of "Age of Aerospace" on the Science channel last night? I was a VERY good look at early aviation, centered on the Boeing company (who is it's major sponsor)
They will air it on Discovery Channel Saturday 2-6-2016 at 12 eastern time.
It looks to be a great aviation program........Rich

I enjoyed it too, Rich, especially all the historical trivia stuff that was new to me. This year's 100th birthday for the company is a fine reason for such a documentary, but the mismatch between the program name and the content made me a little uncomfortable. And even if the title had been Age of Boeing, why did the show end with the B-17? Should we keep an eye out for Part II?

According to science channel it's a five part series

I greatly enjoyed it, especially the turbulent era of the mail contracts being cancelled and the Army trying to fly the mail. Looking forward to part II.

Just saw Part 5, which focuses on the 787 airliner, bringing out several points unfamiliar to me. Ironically, just last week I updated my electronic kit collection with all the Paper Replika Boeing and Airbus airliners, which does not (yet) include the 787. Are there any other 787 kits of that quality available?

Quite a few at Ecardmodels. Just search for 787.

Most are 1/100, Aaron's is 1/115.

This is a great series. I've seen the first few episodes. I plan to catchup over spring break next week.

I watched the second episode last night, definitely an interesting series. From the first ep, I didn't realize how the manufacturers basically invented the concept of passenger air travel, and therefore the airport and airline (and owned them as well). I wonder how that would be now if they hadn't been broken up.
