The surest way is to build one and then measure it against the specs found on the web, e.g. Wikipedia. That's the best way to find out the scale that you can trust.

Yes, and try to use wingspan more than length. Length can vary on some planes...

The scales vary, even within series of the same aircraft in different markings. It would be useful if, whenever someone builds a Zio aircraft they would identify the scale. Eventually we could develop a list of aircraft and scales useful for future builders.

If I recall correctly, Zio never stated the scale of his models.
The files varied a bit in resolution and proportions.

Some JPGs were rectangular and some other were more squared.
When I built his Fokker Dr.1 I had to lay the parts in a different way
so that it could be printed without wasting much paper.

I downscaled the original file at half the size. And even shrinking it at that size
I had to print in A3 paper. The final result was something very near 1/35 scale.

The other planes seem to have some similar problems.

In short: There is no fixed scale in Zio's planes,
and they can vary depending on how the user prints.

Most of them were allegedly 1/72 scale, but with a lot of variation.

Thanks for all the replies. I guess there is no easy way but to print one and measure it. Thanks.
