Thanks, Folks. High praise as these models are not for sissies and you guys really know how to make them look awesome!

I'm REALLY enjoying this build. I really butchered an ME-109 years ago and binned it. Revenge is sweet...of course, I just started

Here is the cockpit finished. I did a bit of weathering/chipping with pencils to liven it up a bit. Maybe a bit overdone, but it still looks cool. I also had to modify the floor a bit as I couldn't see where the part extended below the back bulkhead (under the '5')...must have missed it. A couple of pieces of doughnut box sandwiched together and I had a fix.

I am much interested in what you describe above - a Hampden paper card build on a site dedicated to Hyper Scale. Could you possibly provide a link - haven't been able to find it on my own.

Gratefully, Leif

Good job!
Are you going to paint those wire parts?

Thanks for watching, All!

I don't think I will paint those wire parts as they add a little contrast. I'll see how I feel when it's all together.

And Leif...I think the Hampden build is also here under Philo46 (not sure of the author) a few pages back. It says something like first time builder etc. It was quite a project for a new person trying card models out. I'll look for the Hyper Scale link too, but it's probably more detailed right here!

P.S. I want to build your Spitfire next. I just downloaded the instructions and skins and can't wait to start...especially if this little guys continues to go well!

Dan - In addition to philo46's Mały Modelarz Hampden build in this forum (Modelarz Handley page Hampden...first paper model), there are two other Hampden build threads for the same kit, mine (OTDAEABT Contest - Maly Modelarz Handley Page Hampden Deck Ape's (Maty Modelarz Hampden Bomber 1/33).

THANKS, Don...that is the model that really got me thinking about card models. Takes a lot of courage to tackle a completely different medium!

Cool plane too. By the way...yours turned out just great from what I saw.

Thanks so much for the links.

With a little help from Dan, I found the image of an Hampden on the Hyper Scale forum site. As it turned out the photo was identical to the one published here by Philo426.

Sorry for taking up place with this in your thread about a whole other build...

Leif

PS. I'm pretty sure the Spitfire model you refer to is designed and built by Andrew Inwald. I merely helped him upload his files to the site. I am sure I provided the designer's name when I uploaded it. Since then the layout of the download section has been changed, and that information somehow has got lost. I apologize for that, I haven't noticed it until now, and in fact I just managed to change the file names so that the author's name is included. The files are here:

Andrew Inwald's Spitfire - instructions
Andrew Inwald's Spitfire - parts
Andrew Inwald's Spitfire - Cover and general instructions

No worries, Leif...I bet it originally gave Andrew the credit and I just missed it. I was just remembering the Download "author" and assumed too much.

No harm intended...and I'm STILL going to build that sucker. Looks really nicely designed and the instructions are clear too.

Cheers,

Dan

No fault of yours at all; it was all on me. Just wanted to correct it. - L.
