WAK PZL P.50A Jastrzab Noob Build :-)
All,
I've been checking out this site for a while after seeing a Hampden paper card build over on Hyper Scale. I was very intrigued! I then saw lots of amazing paper models that would be the envy of any scale modeler using any medium. I mostly build vacform and scratch plastic and lots of stick and tissue as well so I'm kind of on the fringe anyway. I decided I wanted to try a card model and found this guy. It looked just complicated enough but also a good first build of a neat plane. So...here goes! "In the box" shot: Engine Build: That's all for now...off to work on the cowling and somehow make paper do some really weird things... Cheers, Dan |

With that start, you should have no problem completing this build. Great historic airplane, too.
Is the chocolate a reward for completing the engine? Don |

Nice catch on the chocolate Don, I completely missed it the first time.

Hi Folks...Yes...Chocolate! You should see how many it took to get this next shot.
I couldn't figure out how to put in one more ring that fit on the inside lip of the cowl?? I left it off... The only other problem was that the rings didn't reach all the way around the circumference so I just added a little splice. I am also not too pleased with my spinner tip, but this is only my first try. I'm having so much fun, this won't be the last card build for me. Lastly, I added some colored pencil in brown to help blend some of the cowl ring bits. Looks ok! Thanks to all the comments and the tips on this site like coloring your edges and burnishing. I can't wait to start trying to get the fuselage together with no seams. It's cool that you guys basically assemble these things like real airplanes. A-freakin'-mazing. Loving this new-found joy, Dan |

Thank you Don and 7TP. Man...are you the P-35 person?? If I can EVER get mine to look like that, I'll ditch all my plastics
Cheers and onto the cockpit, Dan |

I believe that you can make your model better than my P-35. I saw a build report of WAK's PZL P.50A on one Polish forum. It seems to be good and well matched kit. So I guess you shoulden't have any problems. Lukas |

Very good start.
I see that you also have some ideas on how to modify your model, meaning that you are are having techniques on your own, and with your background, that would be an easy task. |
